In October of last year, I blogged about this ceramic mug which has been fondly nicknamed: “I am not a paper cup”. It has indeed been around for a while, and I rarely blog about the same thing twice, yet I feel compelled to keep my pulse on the trends of the industry and inform my readers about these trends. I invite you to read my previous blog about this ceramic coffee mug, but for a more current look at this popular eco-friendly swag idea please read on…
Six months ago the Terra mug was the first to be sold in the promotional industry and they instantly became the new “must have” eco-friendly swag item for businesses creating brand awareness. They were in such high demand that it was nearly impossible place an order; much less receive these mugs custom-printed with your logo in a timely manner.
Here we are today, with probably over a dozen different suppliers with look-alikes, and the way to stay ahead of the curve is to introduce the ceramic mug- but with a little bit of a face-lift. The white ceramic mug we saw before is still available today but has become “old news” in a mere matter of months! Now the ceramic mug comes in white, black and brown. To be fair, there are a couple of different schools of thought for why one might choose a particular color over another. Some people think the white mugs stain too easily, while others feel they can never tell if the black and brown mugs are clean. Neither is right nor wrong. It really just boils down to a matter of preference. Personally, I would venture a guess that regular washing might prove to be useful in both these situations!
In addition to the new colors there are several more reasons why this mug sets itself apart from other traditional mugs. One reason I like the ceramic mug is because the plain design is made to resemble a paper cup therefore bringing awareness to the overwhelming waste in paper cups. I recently read while researching the issue that 7 billion paper cups are tossed into our nation’s waste stream EVERY YEAR, which is why it is so important to draw attention to the issue. Be a part of the solution and also create brand awareness for your company with this clever and useful eco-friendly ceramic mug… one that I believe I remember describing as having “an iconic look and tongue-in-cheek design, which reminds me of a piece of modern art & makes a subtle statement about our disposable culture.”
Another reason this ceramic mug is so great is that you can actually put it in the microwave. So many mugs are made out of aluminum or plastic which can not only be harmful to the microwave but to yourself as well. Ceramic mugs provide the alternative to traditional mugs. This one also fits in your car cup holder, which is a huge plus for me. Although I don’t drive my own car (because I bike or take public transportation) I can still empathize with those who share stories of a tall, aluminum coffee tumbler literally tumbling out of the car cup holder and spilling its contents on the floor.
Feel free to swing on by Ecoswag.com and browse through hundreds of items that we have put our stamp of approval on. If you find yourself becoming a fan of the ceramic mug like me and would like to use it as your company's next promotional item, then don't hesitate to call or shoot me an email. I'd be happy to help!
Thanks for reading!
